Arundel Castle

Friday 18 April

Arundel Castle

Excellent first day of three days at Arundel Casle, with 3587 visitors having a thoroughly great day with plenty to see in the encampment, and plenty to do in the grounds.

Some excellent combat and archery displays, and the Capture the Flag was a great way to finish the day.

Tad windy to start the day, and clouds gave way to a drizzle by the end of the day, but even that didn't deter visitors watching the final fight.

Very successful first day, and huge thanks to all who attended and participated to the day.

Easter Medieval Festival Day 2

Despite the grey and overcast start to the day, the sun came out and so did the visitors, another 3400!!! Some excellent arena displays, and another great Capture the Flag to end the combat (I can't remember laughing so much, even after yesterday when Jack crash landed).

Once again displays and visitor interaction all top notch, so once again, huge thanks and well done to all for another great day.

One more to go folks, here's hoping another successful one.

Arundel Castle Medieval Festival Day 3 Well despite the damp and very cold start, it didn't deter visitors and we chalked up another 2800 to add to a very successful 3 days (certainly up there in the most successful Easter Evebts at the castle) you have my full support to have a well earnt smug look.

Today's Capture the Flag may have taken hilarity to a new high for me, as I certainly can't remember laughing that much in ages.

Combat, archery, encampment, full marks all round and to everyone. Congratulations to Squire Nicolas, well earnt and deserved.

I had considered a promotion later in the year, but after these three days due recognition could not be delayed.

Huge thank you to Mistress Morag for another 3 days of excellent food, and to Courts and Stephen for supporting with additional shopping. Thanks to all those who helped at set up and take down, support much appreciated.

One of the best events I'd say to start the season at the castle in many a year... Huge thanks to all who attended and supported the three days, all very much appreciated.
