Medieval Tournament, 18th - 19th June 2016
Arundel Castle
Huge thank you to all those who attended and supported this event... overall the weather gods were again generous, and literally as we bundling tents into cars the weather started to turn wet, big sigh of relief there.
The visitors certainly were out and about and some fair size crowds at times with plenty to see from Distant Trumpet Story Teller, Roughe Musike, John the Underwoodsman, Hawking About, Plessis Armourer, have-ago-archery, and plenty of crafts, show and tell and a rather fine tournament from the Knights, Squires, and men-at-arms of Raven Tor...
The audience were certainly hard work over the two days, and were most definitely a home crowd judging by the lack of support, in any shape and form for the French team. The combat gained in pace over the two days, and Sundays fights were exceptionally good... very well done to Marek and Karl, especially on the Sunday whose three swords a piece fight was brutal but really enjoyable to watch; well done Kelly whose fight with Marek was excellent; Mark and Matthew for a great hand-and-a-half sword fight, very impressive; George two great wins, very well done; Andy and Cas for some excellent sword and buckler fights...
Huge thank you to Mistress Morag for another fine spread of food and to all who assisted in the kitchen, and to everyone for making it a really successful weekend. Its always good when groups get on so well and there was great atmosphere over the two days, added too by the music, colour and plenty of drama in the arena. Cheers all and look forward to seeing you all at the next event.
